U2 has wrapped its last date of a sold-out 40-date residency at the Las Vegas Sphere. More than 700,000 fans saw the show.

Live Nation and Sphere Entertainment Co. revealed the 700,000 fans from 100+ countries filled 40 sold-out dates from September 2023 to March 2024. The Sphere showcased stunning visuals combined with the live music performance to bring state-of-the-art audio to attendees night after night. Videos of the experience went viral on social media, helping to cement ‘U2:UV Achtung Baby Live At The Sphere’ as a global phenomenon.

The Friday night of closing week saw U2 drummer Larry Mullen Jr. in the crowd, later posting to the band’s social media “What an incredible night at Sphere. So grateful to Bono, Edge, and Adam and of course Bram for an amazing job, very emotional night for me personally.”

The band worked with long-time U2 creative collaborator and show director Willie Williams, as well as artists including Es Devlin, John Gerrard, and Marco Brambilla to create the ‘U2:UV Achtung Baby Live at Sphere’ experience.

U2 debuted a brand new track titled “Atomic City,” produced by Jacknife Lee and Steve Lillywhite and was released on September 29 ahead of U2’s residency at the Las Vegas Sphere. The band performed the track on February 4 at the 66th Grammy Awards.

Formed in Dublin in 1987, U2 has toured the globe countless times, releasing 15 studio albums and sold over 170 million albums across the globe. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2005 and have been twice nominated for an Academy Award for best Original Song once in 2003 for ‘The Hands That Built America’ for the movie Gangs of New York and in 2014 for ‘Ordinary Love’ for the movie Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom.
